The Bog

Bog.jpg

Head south out of the town of Tupper Lake on Route 30.  You will follow Rte 30 along the east edge of Tupper Lake (the lake, not the town) for about 8 miles to the junction with Route 421.  Turn right on 421, winding northwest till you cross a bridge;  there is a small set of parking spaces to the immediate left of the bridge. While on the bridge, to your left (SW), you will see the first of the Bog falls, the end of the Bog River and the falls you can actually play on.  On the NE side of the bridge is a larger, more formidable, falls where the Bog dumps into Tupper Lake.  This latter falls is not a waterfall for human funtime.

2004

First time the Champaign DBs visited the Bog.  Great fun.  Even Larry got in the water.

The water was cold and high enough to be challenging.  When the kids were younger, this would not have been a day for "going down the Bog."
